Your largest customers are asking for carbon data you were never set up to produce.

Retailer questionnaires arrive on their own schedule, in their own format, each one asking for something slightly different. Most F&B suppliers answer them one at a time, by hand, and start again the next quarter.

That approach is slow, and it costs business. In the UK Carbon Data Benchmark 2026, it took 9.1 days on average for a credible carbon figure to reach the person who needed it, and nearly two thirds of businesses had an opportunity lost or delayed because their carbon data was incomplete, outdated, inconsistent or hard to access.

In this session we go through what retailers are asking F&B suppliers for, where those requests go beyond a company-level carbon number, and how to build an answer once rather than repeatedly. We are joined by a guest speaker (TBC) from an F&B supplier, who will walk through a real questionnaire and what it took to respond.

We will cover:

  • What retailers are asking F&B suppliers for, and what they do with the answer
  • Why product-level numbers are the hard part, and where PCF and LCA come in
  • Supplier data you do not control, and how to handle retailer requests for it
  • What a supplier can build that answers most requests once, and gets a credible figure to the people who need it faster
  • What happens when the data is wrong, estimated, or unevidenced

Whether you lead sustainability, supply chain or a key retail account, you will leave knowing how to stop answering the same questions twenty times.

Statistics from the UK Carbon Data Benchmark 2026, independent research commissioned by Zevero and carried out by Censuswide with 502 senior decision-makers at UK companies with 100 or more employees, August to September 2026.
