Don't go into B Corp submission without knowing where you stand
Recertifying under V2
Certified under V1 and haven't mapped against V2 yet
Recertification date is in 2025 or 2026
Not sure which of the 7 mandatory categories you currently pass
Your team are managing recertification on top of a full plate
Certifying for the first time
Want to understand the full scope of V2 before you commit
Need a realistic picture of your gaps and timeline before you start
No baseline for JEDI or Human Rights yet
Most companies think they have more time to submit than they do
Existing B Corps: last day to submit for recertification
15 July 2026 - submit by this date to give yourself the best chance of completing recertification before ECGT applies. Submitting does not guarantee completion by September.
ECGT comes into force for EU-facing B2C companies
27 September 2026 - from this date, V1 certification will not cover sustainability claims under EU law.
Why most B Corps aren't as ready as they think
The assumption we hear most often: "We've got time to figure this out." Most companies don't.
- pass/fail
You now have to pass all 7 categories
V2 is pass/fail across all 7 mandatory categories. A strong score in one area can no longer compensate for gaps elsewhere. A high V1 score tells you almost nothing about where you stand today.
- new categories
EDI and Human Rights didn't exist in V1
Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and Human Rights are either new or fundamentally changed. Most companies have no baseline data, no policies, and no existing evidence to submit.
- Scope 3
Scope 3 is required from the first submission
Most B Corps have never measured supply-chain emissions to GHG Protocol standard and spend-based estimates won't survive QA. The companies that pass started earlier than they thought they needed to.
- target setting
Setting credible targets is harder than it looks
1.5°C alignment isn't a number you choose, it's a science-based calculation specific to your sector, baseline year, and company size. Get it wrong and B Lab will push back.

First-time certification
We've taken companies through their first BIA from scratch and know exactly what B Lab needs to see to get to that first stamp.
Recertification under V2
We know which parts of your V1 submission survive and which don't. You won't redo work that doesn't need redoing.
Climate Action Delivery
Climate Action is the most commonly failed category under V2. We close that gap ourselves, without a handoff.
Platform-backed,

V2 is a completely different standard, pass/fail across 7 mandatory categories, with new areas that didn't exist in V1. A high score under the old standard doesn't indicate V2 readiness. That's exactly why the audit exists.
The categories that most commonly cause problems; Scope 3 measurement, Climate Action, Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and Human Rights, are difficult to be closed in a few weeks. The audit tells you how much time you actually need so you can plan accordingly.
The new standards run to 1,245 pages and were updated three times in the last year. Our audit takes the interpretation work off your plate and tells you exactly what to focus on in weeks, not months.
The ECGT deadlines don't apply directly if you don't sell into the EU. But V2 is now the only certification standard and the 7 mandatory categories apply to every company certifying or recertifying, wherever you are.
Each gap in your report maps to a Zevero service. Where the audit surfaces Scope 3 measurement, a Climate Action Plan, or JEDI work as gaps, we can close them without handing you off to someone else.
Ready to find out where you stand?
We'll tell you what the new standards mean for your certification, what your likely gaps are, and what it takes to close them. No cost. No commitment.
