Who is Colart?
Colart is a global leader in creative materials, home to iconic brands such as Winsor & Newton, Lefranc Bourgeois, and Liquitex. With a mission to inspire every artist around the world, sustainability sits at the core of the company’s strategy, influencing product innovation, packaging, and the entire value chain.
After years of tracking emissions internally, Colart formalised its long-term climate commitment by joining the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in July 2025, securing validated Net Zero targets and a clear decarbonisation roadmap.

The Challenge
As Colart expanded its sustainability efforts, its existing reporting systems struggled to keep pace. The team relied on spreadsheets, internal tools, and external consultants—methods that delivered results, but at a cost:
- Heavy manual workload, especially across Scope 3
- Slow data collection cycles that delayed internal reporting
- Limited automation, making scalability difficult
- Fragmented visibility across global operations
Colart needed a platform that could reduce manual effort, improve data accuracy, and support faster decision-making as they advanced toward their SBTi commitments.
The Solution
Colart initially partnered with Zevero to calculate product carbon footprints for selected SKUs, to improve accuracy and provide emissions figures per unit and per kilogram. This offered greater granularity than previous consultant-led assessments, giving Colart a clearer view of their product-level emissions.
Zevero also provided a centralised platform to support broader carbon footprinting efforts. With dashboards for facility emissions and documentation uploads, the platform is helping Colart stay audit-ready and aligned with best-practice frameworks.
"Zevero stood out for its use of AI to streamline Scope 1, 2, and 3 reporting. Their platform offered the efficiency and automation we were looking for, along with a user-friendly interface and strong support. The team behind the software were really effective and agile in their support, which was another reason we chose Zevero."
The Results
Although still early in the partnership, Colart is already seeing significant improvements:
Enhanced data quality and accuracy: Achieved clearer PCF insights with per-SKU and per-kg data, using more specific emissions factors and methodologies which has helped the team to visualise their impact and identify areas to improve.
Increased efficiency and transparency: Reduced the internal burden of emissions reporting and centralised facility data through the Zevero platform, supporting long-term SBTi-aligned planning.
Greater internal engagement: Visual dashboards and data breakdowns within the platform have supported conversations across procurement, operations and sustainability teams, giving them one place to align and be aware of their emissions.
Identify key emissions hotspots: Gained visibility into the biggest impact areas, particularly around material and packaging procurement, helping to inform future product and supply chain decisions.
The automation of Scope 3 data and the clarity of the dashboards have been game-changers. We now have faster access to insights that inform our reduction planning and stakeholder communications. The new dashboard will be integrated into our existing KPI tracking.
Looking Ahead
Colart is using the insights gained so far to build a broader decarbonisation roadmap. Key priorities include: deeper supply chain engagement, low-carbon and circular product innovation, and exploration of regenerative materials. Backed by Zevero’s AI-powered platform and dedicated support team, Colart is well positioned to scale its sustainability programme and meet its long-term Net Zero commitments with confidence.
