New in Zevero: Take control of who can do what in the platform

Sustainability used to be managed by one or two people. Now it touches finance teams preparing disclosures, procurement teams making sourcing decisions, external auditors reviewing methodology, and board members tracking progress against targets.

That shift creates a new challenge: how do you give each of those people the access they need, without giving everyone the same level of control over your data?

The new Roles and Permissions feature in Zevero is built to solve this hurdle.

🔐 Precise access without the complexity

Access in Zevero is controlled by two settings that work together.

A Team defines the scope of what a user can see: which business divisions, facilities and emission categories are visible to them. This is useful for organisations with multiple sites or regions, where different people are responsible for different parts of the company’s data.

A Role defines what a user can do within their scope. There are four roles:

Workspace Owner - full access to the platform, plus exclusive control over account-level settings.

Admin- full access to settings, users, assets, and data.

User - can enter and edit data and generate reports, but cannot manage settings, assets, or other users.

Auditor -- read-only access to data and reports, designed for external reviewers or internal stakeholders who need visibility without edit access.

As sustainability reporting converges with financial reporting, the integrity of the underlying data matters more than ever. Boards are being asked to sign off on sustainability figures with the same rigour as financial statements. Auditors are asking who can change numbers and when.

A clear access structure is the foundation that makes your data defensible when it’s questioned internally and externally.

Roles make it possible to bring more people into the platform without creating the kind of open access that puts that foundation at risk.
