Emi is a Sustainability Consultant on our Japan team, based in Tokyo. She grew up between the US and Japan, holds a Masters in Sustainability Science, and spent time at Bloomberg before finding her way into the world of carbon reporting. We sat down with her to find out more about her background, what she's watching in the sustainability space, and what she gets up to outside of work.
Tell us a bit about your background.
I grew up in the US and Japan, and also lived in Thailand for my study abroad during undergrad. I am a big foodie, which led me to study Agricultural Science during undergrad.
Where are you from? Where are you located now?
I am originally from the US (from the small state of Vermont), and have been living in Japan for the past 15 years. Currently located in Tokyo.
What did you study?
For undergrad I studied Agricultural Science, and for my masters I studied Sustainability Science :)
What’s your previous work experience?
My first ever job was at a pizza place, but for my first grown up job I used to work at Bloomberg in the Data Management team. We made sure the financial data on the platform was up to date (including ESG related data).
What inspired you to join Zevero?
I wanted to be able to work in the Sustainability Industry with a great group of people!

Zevero Japan's CEO Marvin Mori, because I would like to interact more with all of the teams and understand the differences in how we work.
