The EU’s sustainability reporting landscape is undergoing its most significant transformation since the adoption of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
On 31 July 2025, EFRAG published simplified exposure drafts of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), which serve as the requirements underpinning CSRD. The revisions cut mandatory datapoints by more than 50%, eliminate all voluntary disclosures, and introduce a more streamlined structure that’s better aligned with global reporting frameworks.
At the same time, the European Commission has confirmed adjustments to the CSRD reporting timeline and formally endorsed the new Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard for SMEs (VSME), offering a practical and proportionate approach to ESG disclosures for smaller enterprises facing growing demands from customers, investors, and regulators.
But what do these changes really mean for your organisation? Join Zevero’s experts as we unpack the key developments, explore the implications for companies of all sizes, and share practical guidance on how to adapt your reporting strategy.
