As part of its commitment to responsible business practices, TF Value-Mart is working to better understand its carbon footprint and take meaningful steps to reduce its impact.
As part of this mission, TF Value-Mart is committing to the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to translate its sustainability ambitions into measurable action. The team is actively reviewing its environmental footprint to set a clear, science-led pathway for emissions reduction. This approach ensures they are taking credible and transparent steps to operate responsibly and build a resilient business for generations to come.

The challenge
Before working with Zevero, TF Value-Mart struggled with data collection across their operations and supply chain. The team lacked internal sustainability expertise to carry out a comprehensive carbon assessment and needed a practical solution to keep themselves accountable to their SBTi.
They recorded some data in Excel spreadsheets; however, in their first year a lot of data wasn’t available to do a full assessment, and Scope 3 categories like purchased goods and services and business travel were mostly based on high-level spend-based data analysis was done for these categories instead, limiting the accuracy of the footprint.
TF Value-Mart was looking for a partner who could increase the accuracy of their emissions data, deliver clear insights on an individual store basis, and ensure the process was scalable as they grow, all while building a credible baseline to guide action toward their SBTi targets.
The solution
TF Value-Mart partnered with Zevero to measure Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions with greater accuracy and build a more reliable baseline for tracking progress. Zevero’s sustainability experts worked closely with the team to collect and clean data across all sites, helping structure the information and apply appropriate emissions factors, including quantity-based data where available.
Zevero’s platform and expert support helped replace high-level screening data with more specific calculations, particularly in Scope 3 categories. This provided TF Value-Mart with a clearer and more credible emissions footprint across their operations and supply chain.
